Red Carpet Trends: Best and Worst Dressed in 2009

Red Carpet Trends: Best and Worst Dressed in 2009

From the Golden Globes Award ceremony in 2009, these were some of the choices that really stood out:

Worst dressed

Frieda Pinto, from the movie Slumdog Millionaire, wore a old-looking, mustard colored Christian Lacriox gown with bunched up fabric around the middle that was very unflattering to any woman.

Olivia Wilde, from the television show House, looked very refined in her make up, but her dress looked like an ostrich gave its life to dress her. This cotton candy color look with fluffy ruffles was not her best attempt at fashion.

Robert Downey Jr. showed up in sneakers and sunglasses to this red carpet event. That is surely not the way to impress anyone!

Mickey Rourke was wearing a velvet jacket and sequined scarf looking more like an old hippy than the great star that he has become this year.

Best Dressed

Kristen Bell, from Gossip Girl, was ravishing in her red-orange gown with a black waist belt. She emphasized her curves which augments her smallish chest and highlights the kind of bold colors that will continue to be in fashion into 2010.

Miley Cyrus was age appropriate and gorgeous in her flowing white gown. She also was showing a little bit of fashion foresight as her bold use of pattern on an otherwise plain background made her entire outfit pop! This will be continued into 2010 as well.

Zac Efron in a Burberry black suit with a white, small collared shirt and a thin black tie was youthful and elegant as an escort for the lovely Vanessa Hudgens.

Simon Baker from the Mentalist was a classically handsome vision in a uniquely black-trimmed, blue suit that clearly showed a bold side to his personality and sense of style.
